Classroom Observation

Name:Maria BennettDate:April 11, 2011 Course: Foundations for Early instruction PreK 4; Education 105 B82 Name of Lesson: American Heroes behavioral purpose: The idea of this lesson is for students to realize that heroes have been important characters passim history. I pass on introduce this lesson to 7-9 years old students (2nd grade). At the end of the lesson I volition provide a tapsheet and they should be able to match the hero with his/her accomplishments scoring a measly of 75%. Materials: Technology, worksheet, pencils, erasers, Classroom board, Book Barack Obama Of Thee I Sing A Letter to My Daughters Illustrated by: Loren Long Classroom Board incentive: Students allow for list to the song My Country Tis of Thee the first devil verses while they derive up with any American Heroes they get or hear about. After listening to the song the students go away make connections and parcel of land with class about call of American heroes t hat they know. I will introduce the keep and will inform the students that at the ratiocination of the book they will be asked to off a try out on some of the heroes and what they accomplished. Then I will subscribe aloud Of Thee I Sing. Activity Sequence: 1. get a epithelial duct to song 2. Ask students to brainstorm names of American Heroes 3. perform predictions of the book I will be reading 3b. division with students that they will take a quiz on the American heroes in the book. 4. take leave Reading 5. Have them work on worksheet and review answers when finish. Adaptations: Struggling readers will only be required to match six or seven questions from the worksheet. For non readers I will provide them with a persona of the heroes and picture of accomplishments to match. For go students, they may go to the computer and look for 3 to a greater extent important facts about their favorite American heroes.
